The Dude est unalbum studio de 1981 par le musicien et producteur américain Quincy Jones. Dans cet album figure les débuts du vocaliste James Ingram sur les singles "Just Once" and "One Hundred Ways," qui se classèrent repectivement no. 17 and 14 dans the Billboard Hot 100. il contient aussi "Razzamatazz", qui se classa no. 11 dans the UK Singles Chart, un des quenlsues titres de l'album. Il gagna le Grammy award pour le meilleur R&B vocal performance pour son travail sur l'album. harmoniciste belge Toots Thielemans joue aussi et contributa à l'album,apparaissant sur le morceau instrumental "Velas". La chanson était samplée par Jodeci sur leur single de 1996 "Get on Up" qui apparaît sur leur 3ème album "The Show, the After Party, the Hotel" tout comme les producteurs Shut Up and Dance pour le morceau "Waking Up" qui apparaît sur le 1er album de Nicolette, "Now Is Early".
